Aalto University Student Union organises a multidisciplinary art festival Otaniemi Night of Arts on Saturday, 21 Sept. The festival is organised for the second time, it is free of charge and open to all residents of the Helsinki metropolitan area.

Otaniemi Night of Arts will take over Otaniemi for the second time in September. This year, the event is executed in cooperation with Aalto University and City Events Espoo. “Last year, the event had an excellent reception and the feedback absolutely demanded us to organise it again,” says Marianne Honkasaari, AYY Board Member in charge of artistic activities.  Like last year, the event will feature music and art in many different forms.

The main attractions of the festival are Anssi Kela and Mira Luoti (duo) who will be releasing a new album in September. For children, there is a performance of Sampo Puppet Theatre and a lamp workshop. “The Aalto community has organised art tours, exhibitions, storm karaoke, various musical performances and art workshops,” says Honkasaari. Ella Eskola is responsible for the graphic design of the event.

The festival programme starts in the afternoon and lasts until late at night. The entire programme and schedules can be found at www.otaniemenyo.fi. The Otaniemi Night of Arts will start the 10-year anniversary events of Aalto University Student Union. The anniversary year will culminate with the AYY10 Annual Ball at the Finlandia Hall in May 2020.
