Christmas 2020 and New Year - questions and answers about member services

Our member services and the Services Office are closed, with the exception of the moving day and a few other exceptions. We will be on vacation from 18 Dec to 27 Dec when we will not respond to messages. Our telephone service will be open on 30 Dec and 31 Dec at 12noon−4pm.

In December, you can return the apartment keys to the mailbox of AYY’s Services Office in an envelope.

Our Services Office is closed for the time being due to the corona situation. Check the current opening hours here

On the moving day on Monday, 4 Jan 2021, our Services Office will be open from 12noon to 4pm for matters related to moving.

You can collect academic year tags on Tuesday, 5 Jan, from 1pm to 5pm and on Tuesday, 12 Jan, from 12noon to 5pm.

Where can I find more information?

AYY’s Services Office is on Christmas holiday on 19 Dec−27 Dec and during this time your questions cannot be answered. You can submit your housing questions with this form and questions about other member services (e.g. facilities and academic year tags) with this form .

AYY’s weekly newsletter will have a Christmas break. This year’s last weekly newsletter will be published on 14 Dec and the first weekly newsletter of 2021 will be published on 10 Jan. Subscribe to the weekly newsletter here. You can submit your own piece of news through this form .

Government cuts put a stop to the construction of student housing

We are shocked by the recent cuts of the Finnish Government which put student housing and its construction at stake. In its session on spending limits, the Government made significant cuts to the special group investment grants for student housing construction, which makes the commencement of already planned housing projects in the capital region uncertain and complicates the housing situation for students as well as the housing activities of the Aalto University Student Union (AYY).
