Scholarships

AYY awards scholarships to its members to support the internationalisation and communal activities of students of limited means and to encourage the successful combination of studies and student life.

AYY has three different scholarships:

  1. Exchange scholarship
  2. Community scholarship
  3. Study scholarship

In addition, AYY provides certain field-specific scholarships.

The allocation of scholarships and the scoring criteria for applications are defined in the Scholarship Regulation and the scoring guidelines for community activities. 

Scholarship categories

Exchange scholarship

Intended for Aalto University degree students going on exchange. Can be applied for before, during or after the exchange. The applicant’s activity in the community and their study performance are taken into account when scholarships are awarded. The amount of the scholarship is €500.

Community scholarship

Intended for student union members who have been active in the community. The applicant’s activity in the community is taken into account when scholarships are awarded. The amount of the scholarship is €500.

Study scholarship

Intended for student union members who have been active in the community and managed to successfully combine their studies and student life. The applicant’s activity in the community and their study performance are taken into account when scholarships are awarded. The amount of the scholarship is €500.

Application rounds

In the spring, all scholarship categories (exchange, study and community scholarships) are awarded.

In the autumn, only exchange scholarships are awarded.

The applications are processed by the Scholarship Distribution Committees. More information is available from Allowance Specialist Matias Saikku (matias.saikku[at]ayy.fi). The scholarship committee does not comment on individual application decisions.
