International Degree Students’ Committee (IDSC)

The IDSC helps international students’ advocacy work by functioning as a link between AYY sector for international affairs and the international student community. A typical form of IDSC action is representing international students in the preparation phase of AYY’s policy decisions. More information: international(at)ayy.fi.

ESN Aalto

ESN Aalto organizes leisure activities for exchange students especially, but to other international students as well. The section throws great international parties and organizes different cultural events and trips around Finland. Finnish students are also more than welcome to take part in ESN’s activities! The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a network of European student organizations that promotes exchange studies. ESN Aalto is a member of ESN. Joining the ESN Section is a great way to get international within AYY and in Europe. To join ESN, contact esnaalto(at)esnfinland.eu. AYY International Section

The International Section of the Aalto University Student Union organizes events to all the international and international-minded students at Aalto University. For more information click International Section in the navigation bar on the left and see the Facebook page of the section for information about events.

Development Cooperation Section

Development Cooperation Section (Kehy) is an association functioning under AYY. The goal of Kehy is to increase Third World awareness within Aalto University and to bring attention to Third World countries’ place in world economy. Besides being an information source and organizing events for people in Aalto University, Kehy can offer you practical experience in planning, realizing and administrating real development cooperation projects. BEST

BEST, or Board of European Students of Technology, is a European student organization for students of technology of which AYY’s local branch is also a member. BEST operates in 30 European countries. AYY’s BEST team works independently under AYY and annually organizes cultural exchanges and other activities as well as a summer course for students from all over Europe. BEST is an excellent opportunity to involve yourself in international activity both home and abroad. All AYY members are welcome to join at any time throughout the year. International Tutors

Over 600 exchange students and about 900 foreign degree students arrive in Aalto each year. Their first contacts in Finland are the tutors. International students require tutoring especially in the beginning of their stay in the country, and not only with study matters, but also with issues relating to day-to-day life in Finland.
