Specialists
Specialists are hired employees of AYY and their main tasks are to provide help and information services and expertise as well as do ground work to facilitate decision making in the student union. The workload divides into student advocacy, member services, communication and administration. Financial matters are handled by AYY’s separate Financial Office.
Specialists are available to all AYY members. For example, the educational policy specialist deals with matters concerning students’ studies and legal protection and the social policy specialist helps with subsistence issues and the like.

Financial Office
The Financial Office is a support function that handles AYY’s finances. It is also responsible for real estate management and provides housing services and other member services at different service points.

Trinet
Trinet, founded in 1986, is the Otaniemi area campus network. It provides Internet access to all apartments owned by AYY and HOAS (Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region) in Otaniemi. The network covers approximately 2 500 student households and is connected to Funet, the Finnish network for universities and research. More information can be found on the Trinet website.
