Representative Council
The Representative Council represents all members of the student union and holds the highest authority within AYY.
Electronic voting opens on 30 Oct at 12 noon and ends on 6 Nov at 3 pm. Voting requires Aalto identification. All members of the Student Union who have paid their membership fee by 30th of September are eligible to vote in the election.
Your vote matters: you will influence the direction in which the Student Union develops. The Representative Council, consisting of 45 students elected through elections, exercises the highest decision-making power at AYY. The members of the Representative Council influence, for example, the Student Union's strategy, policy paper, budget, action plan and building projects.

Results of both AYY and KY's Representative Council elections 2025 are published in the election night event on Nov 6. The event is streamed live from Saha in Otaniemi, and our broadcast starts around 7.15 pm before AYY's election results at 7.30 pm. Audience is welcome to attend at the venue too, starting at 6 pm!
The election panel brings together the electoral alliance to discuss the student union’s current affairs! Come and watch as the candidates go head-to-head in AYY’s RepCo election panel on 30 Oct at 18.00 at the OUBS studio at Jämeräntaival 1. The audience will have the opportunity to present questions to the candidates. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
You can also follow the live stream from the comfort of your own couch via AYY’s YouTube channel. English interpretation will be available.
Welcome to the AYY tent at Korkeakouluaukio! On our Election Square from 3 to 5 November at 3-5 pm, you can vote and come and pick up election coffee and buns (limited quantity) and an overall badge. You can ask the members of the Central Election Committee any questions you have, look at the posters of the election alliances or chat with the candidates who are campaigning.
Aalto University Student Union’s (AYY) Representative Council election has drawn more interest than in previous years. In the autumn election, 326 students are running for the Representative Council, which is the third-largest number of candidates in AYY’s history. The number of electoral alliances has also increased.
